Customer Support Technician

SMX Services & Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Customer Support Technician to provide computer and end-user support. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing service desk tickets, and assisting with IT equipment deployment.

Responsibilities

Provide computer and end-user support, including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting of hardware and software
Monitor and resolve service desk tickets; document work performed and solutions
Install, configure, and troubleshoot audio-visual and video conferencing equipment
Perform basic network and telephony support
Provide on-site assistance to support remote troubleshooting by other IT staff
Configure and deploy IT equipment including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
Assist with annual inventory scanning and surplus equipment processes
Participate in team meetings, projects, and assignments
Travel to remote FDOT sites to deploy or repair IT resources
Follow and enforce FDOT policies, procedures, and documentation standards
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required

High School diploma (or equivalent) plus 1 year of experience installing, maintaining, or supporting workstation hardware
1 year of customer service and technical support experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Windows 10 or higher
Technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+ or Network+) may substitute for 6 months of experience
Associate degree from an accredited institution with at least 25% coursework in IT-related classes
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to climb ladders, squat, stoop, push, crawl, and bend
Ability to work in all types of weather conditions
Ability to work independently, manage workload, and meet deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to assess needs and resolve issues professionally
Applies sound judgment and critical thinking
Adapts to change, new processes, and constructive feedback
Demonstrates courtesy, professionalism, and teamwork
Motivates and supports team members when needed
Identifies issues and recommends effective solutions
Collaborates effectively as part of a team
Applies QA tools and techniques to ensure service quality
