Lead Business Analyst
AUX Partners is collaborating with a large financial services company to find an experienced Sr. Business Analyst. The role involves managing the requirements lifecycle, working with stakeholders to document and prioritize requirements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and facilitating various workshops and testing processes.
Responsibilities
Conduct stakeholder interviews, focus groups, surveys, and observation sessions
Translate high-level business goals into granular, testable requirements
Identify non-functional requirements (performance, security, scalability, usability)
Map as-is processes and document pain points, bottlenecks, and workarounds
Design optimized to-be processes
Maintain a live Gap Register tracking technical, process, and people gaps
Author and maintain (with version control & 100% audit readiness):
Business Requirements Document (BRD)
Functional Specification Document (FSD)
User Stories + detailed Acceptance Criteria
API contracts
Data dictionary & entity-relationship diagrams
Requirements Traceability Matrix
UAT Test Cases
Facilitate prioritization workshops (MoSCoW, WSJF, etc.)
Define MVP and Minimum Marketable Features (MMF)
Build, groom, and estimate effort for the product backlog
Embed all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements into user stories
Support internal and external audits
Lead JAD (Joint Application Design) and requirements review sessions
Mediate conflicts using data-driven insights
Eliminate finger-pointing through shared dashboards & visibility
Own RACI matrix for the full requirements lifecycle
Conduct formal requirements sign-off ceremonies
Write detailed test scenarios and UAT scripts
Coordinate and facilitate User Acceptance Testing
Track defects in Jira
Target: >95% first-pass UAT acceptance and <5% post-go-live issues
Define and track key requirements KPIs:
Velocity
Rework %
Requirements volatility
Defect leakage
Build executive dashboards demonstrating business value delivered
Conduct requirements process retrospectives and implement lessons learned
Assess impact of scope changes and maintain updated backlog & traceability
Communicate changes through release notes and training sessions
Manage change request log and CAB (Change Approval Board) submissions
Qualification
Required
4+ years as a Business Analyst on e-commerce or fintech platforms (mid-size to large enterprise scale)
Proven experience in regulated industries (financial services, lending, payments)
Hands-on experience with APIs (REST, Swagger/OpenAPI)
Hands-on experience with low-code platforms
Hands-on experience with front-end workflows
Tool proficiency (expert level preferred): Jira
Tool proficiency (expert level preferred): Lucidchart / Visio
Tool proficiency (expert level preferred): Postman / Swagger
Tool proficiency (expert level preferred): Excel (advanced)
Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum + Kanban)
Strong knowledge of BPMN & UML
Strong knowledge of user story writing & acceptance criteria
Strong knowledge of prioritization frameworks (MoSCoW, WSJF)
Excellent facilitation, conflict resolution, and cross-silo stakeholder management skills
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field
Preferred
Preferred certifications: CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA
