Aerospace Cadmium Assistant - 2nd Shift

Hytek Finishes Co. is seeking a Cadmium Plating Operator Trainee to join their Plating department. This position involves learning to process parts specific to Cadmium Plating while adhering to Military and OEM specifications and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

Work closely with experienced Operators and Department Leads to complete work and prioritize tasks
Follow technique card, customer Purchase Orders, and instructions from experienced Operators and Department Leads; legibly sign off on work once completed and Operator Self Verification inspection has occurred
General review of paperwork and Operator Self Verification inspection of job to ensure all previous operations were completed. Notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors
Prepare parts prior to operations including mechanical or chemical cleaning; use proper tooling and fixtures, when applicable
Knowledge of pre and post cleaning surface finish requirements
Familiar with Quality Assurance requirements & rework procedures
Familiar with engineering drawing notations
Follow safety precautions to avoid preventable injury to self and other personnel
Develop new product processing and identify areas for improvement
Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to drive positive change in productivity, delivery, and service
Other duties as assigned

Required

Ability to pass a pre-employment and annual physical Cadmium/Chromium exam and spirometry exam; ability to wear a respirator
May need to participate in annual Hearing Conservation testing and Eye Exams
Ability to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, including safety glasses, goggles or face shields, aprons, boots, gloves, and other PPE based upon requirements in working area
Demonstrated ability to train and positively influence others
Must be a self-starter, able to work both independently, as a team, and with customers (both internally and externally)
Excellent accuracy with a strong attention to detail
Ability to solve tactical and strategic problems and issues arising in this position
Ability to learn and use Lean Tools and techniques to solve tactical and strategic problems and issues arising in this position
Must have a regular and dependable attendance record
Ability to Read/Write/Communicate in English and calculate basic math formulas
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility

Preferred

1-2 years in manufacturing or manufacturing production environment a plus
