Responsibilities
Write automation tools for your team and other internal teams to self-service, deploy, detect, alert, and mitigate in our AWS environments
Define and implement best practices and security standards for operating in the cloud
Provide guidance and recommendations to development teams on service design and deployments
Operate the AWS Accounts to help maintain a security posture while ensuring developers can get their work done
Participate in investigations and RCA’s when we hit the limits of our scale, continuously improving by learning from failures
Work with infrastructure tooling and serve as a resource for forming cloud infrastructure as code
Troubleshoot and implement appropriate IAM permissions for user access and workloads running in AWS
Troubleshoot network security and reachability with development teams
Monitor and work on inbound issues reported via Jira, email, and Slack
Qualification
Required
5+ years of AWS experience
3+ years of experience with infrastructure and CI/CD management tools - Terraform and Jenkins is a plus
3+ years of relevant software engineering experience - python/bash is a plus
Proficiency with general and AWS-specific networking concepts
Expertise in CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins and Spinnaker
Hands-on AWS Security/IAM administration and policy-creation experience
Experience with Unix/Linux systems
Practical and personable, with a succinct communication style and the ability to communicate with engineers
Familiarity with operational troubleshooting tools and techniques
