Senior Automation Engineer

Wisconsin Stamping and Manufacturing is a privately-held independent metal fabrication company that produces components used in a wide range of industries. The Senior Automation Engineer is responsible for coordinating and directing the activities of the Automation Team, developing automation systems, and overseeing automation projects to ensure they meet scope, cost, and schedule requirements.

Responsibilities

Directing the activities of the Automation Team
Developing the robotics and automation roadmap for manufacturing facilities
Directing and managing the design and building of automation systems
Responsible for overseeing scope, cost, and schedule of automation projects - including system designs, bills of materials and specifications
Manage vendor selection, specifying automation equipment and robots and gathering RFQ's
Research and stay current with best available technologies related to automation
Programming of HMI’s, PLC’s, robots, and vision systems
Testing and debugging of systems prior to placing in production
Provide technical support as required to ensure plant robots are operating and optimized, including troubleshooting and operator training
Create and maintain schematics and drawings for automation systems
Assist management and plant personnel in development and implementation of efficiency projects
Other duties as assigned

Required

5+ years experience in factory automation, designing and implementing industrial robotic equipment in a manufacturing environment
Strong computer skills. 3D / CAD experience - preferably SolidWorks
Strong project management skills
Able to translate automation conceptual designs into functional systems
Ability to work independently and on a team
Positive, 'can do' attitude

Preferred

B.S. or associates degree in mechanical or electrical engineering/technology or related field
Experience with Fanuc and Universal robots and vision systems
Management experience
