Project Development Coordinator for Brooklyn Recreation
The City of New York is seeking a Project Development Coordinator for Brooklyn Recreation. The role involves performing research, analysis, and planning functions, as well as providing clerical support and coordinating community events and initiatives.

Responsibilities
Under direction of the Brooklyn Chief of Recreation, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, perform difficult research, analysis and planning functions for Brooklyn Recreation
Provide clerical support for borough recreation management; prepare and edit reports, compile data and create PowerPoint presentations
Answer high volume of phone calls; provide information to other divisions, staff and patrons when necessary. Manage incoming correspondence including responding directly when required
Spearhead the development and implementation of new and innovative arts and cultural programs
Work with borough staff to implement regular events citywide
Coordinate Parks Equity Initiative (PEI) programming with borough partners
Assist the Chief of Recreation in establishing Recreation membership goals and tracking individual center progress
Attend community meetings, develop partnerships and create appropriate fliers and reports. Represent Brooklyn Recreation at meetings when required
Review and update borough website information including center information, programming information and special events
Assist the Chief and Deputy Chiefs with special projects
Qualification
Required
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
Education and/or experience which is equivalent to '1' or '2' above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in '1' above
Preferred
Bachelor's degree
Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access
Ability to meet deadlines and initiate and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Valid New York State driver license
