Staff Accountant
Skilled Wound Care is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join their team. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and smooth day-to-day accounting operations within a fast-paced health care environment.

Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the general ledger, including preparing and posting journal entries with supporting documentation
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Process and review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
Reconcile vendor and customer accounts, resolving discrepancies and communicating with stakeholders as needed
Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses
Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and necessary documentation
Maintain organized and accurate financial records, both electronic and physical
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and health care–specific regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CMS guidelines, cost reporting)
Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial data, resolve discrepancies, and provide accounting support
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Associate's degree with relevant experience considered)
2–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, ideally in the health care industry or a corporate setting
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, reconciliations)
Solid understanding of GAAP and familiarity with health care–specific accounting practices and regulations (HIPAA, CMS guidelines, cost reporting)
Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management abilities
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn new systems and processes
Must be able to commute daily to Playa Vista, CA (on-site role)
