Senior Development Assistant, Planned Giving and Endowments

UJA-Federation of New York is seeking a Senior Development Assistant for their Planned Giving & Endowments department. The role involves providing essential administrative support and communication for the Vice President of Planned Giving & Endowments while engaging with donors and coordinating fundraising activities.

Responsibilities

Develop and compose letters, memos, reports, and other written communications
Coordinate and assist with fundraising activities including events, donor relations, interdepartmental communications, and external marketing
Plan and prepare for internal and external meetings
Manage and maintain database, donor lists, donor correspondence, meeting notes, and calendars
Engage donors as appropriate
Organize and prepare for committee meetings with lay leaders
Assemble mailings and track donor responses
Process, prepare, and track gift paperwork
General administrative duties such as maintaining departmental attendance, answering departmental hotline and general e-mail, and updating policies and procedure manual
Various projects as assigned

Qualification

Microsoft OfficeDatabase managementCommunication skillsOrganizational skillsWriting skillsTime management

Required

Bachelor's degree required
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; comfortable working with various databases
Positive work ethic and an ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and writing skills necessary
Ability to follow systems and procedures while also exhibiting creative thinking
Detail-oriented and effective time manager, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a demanding work environment
