The State of Missouri is seeking a Systems Administration Technician to provide technical support for complex enterprise email systems and advanced technologies. Responsibilities
Providing technical support for a wide range of complex enterprise email systems and advanced technologies
Designing, implementing, administering, and supporting the State's enterprise email and messaging systems, ensuring reliability, security, and compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements
Working closely with agency stakeholders, vendors, and internal IT divisions to deliver secure, efficient, and scalable email services
Providing outstanding customer service and technical guidance to ensure the efficient operation of information systems that support the State of Missouri's email-related platforms
Collaborating with State agency users, legal representatives, vendors, and other ITSD teams to implement effective and compliant email-related technology solutions and provide support
Planning, coordinating, and implementing technology initiatives, upgrades, system improvements, and disaster recovery processes in accordance with established timelines and change management procedures
Ensuring system maintenance, updates, and security patches are performed in compliance with ITSD operational standards and best practices
Assisting with escalated complex email-related incidents, working with the ITSD Client Engagement Services team on resolution efforts
Maintaining current knowledge of emerging email technologies, security protocols, and information technology industry trends
Determining innovative recommendations for future technology enhancements
Qualification
Required
Authorization to work in the United States is a prerequisite of employment
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
Demonstrated experience with administering and supporting enterprise information technology systems
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Strong technical troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and work with technical and non-technical teams
Proven ability to handle multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a complex enterprise environment
Intermittent after-hours work will be required to meet project deadlines and implement system changes
Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate's name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position
Knowledge of operating systems and applications
Knowledge of cybersecurity issues and preventative methods
Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software
Ability to research, collect, and analyze network performance
Preferred
Experience working with legal, compliance, or records management teams on email discovery and retention processes
Experience with Microsoft Exchange (M365 and On-Premises) and Proofpoint technologies
