Technical Product Owner
Yoh, A Day & Zimmermann Company is seeking a highly motivated Technical Product Owner to join their team. The role involves defining product vision, managing the product backlog, and collaborating with stakeholders to implement effective systems and solutions.
Responsibilities
Define, document, and prioritize product, business, and system requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs
Drive requirement gathering and JAD sessions with business and technology leaders and facilitate decision making process to completion ensuring a holistic understanding of the need
Learn and maintain a thorough understanding of systems and business rules to ensure new functionality being requested and designed is not in direct contradiction with limitations or process
Act as the liaison between clients, both internal and external, and the delivery teams, ensuring professional, clear, and positive communication and collaboration
Create and maintain an organized and prioritized product backlog, documenting requirements, writing clear and concise user stories and well-defined acceptance criteria
Own the product vision and roadmap, continuously refining strategies based on stakeholder feedback, business needs, and market trends
Conduct gap analysis between existing applications and evolving customer requirements, working closely with architects and developers
Partner closely with the Project Managers to empower the teams from kickoff through to successful delivery
Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Grooming, Stand-ups, Retrospectives) to drive efficient product development
Lead acceptance testing efforts to ensure the final product meets business and functional requirements
Manage multiple competing priorities effectively through strong organization and communication
Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance product strategies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field
8+ years of experience in functional roles, with 3+ years in an Agile environment
Proven track record of successful experience in business requirements elicitation, documentation, and process analysis
Expertise in writing requirements documentation, detailed user stories, product and business requirements, and backlog management
Highly skilled in translating complex business needs into clear technical specifications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
Experience successfully leveraging tools such as Azure DevOps, SharePoint, Confluence, etc
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders
Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex project challenges
Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Adaptability and resilience to handle unexpected changes and maintain momentum
Successful working in both independent and team settings
Preferred
Product Owner certification (CSPO, PSPO I, PSPO II) is desirable
