Sales and Business Development Support Aerospace & Defense
Aerostar Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Aerospace & Defense Sales Manager to drive growth across defense contractors, aerospace OEMs, and Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers. This role involves managing strategic customer relationships and converting technical capabilities into long-term revenue while collaborating with engineering and operations.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute sales strategies for Aerospace & Defense accounts
Manage and grow strategic customer relationships (OEMs, primes, Tier suppliers)
Identify and pursue new programs, RFQs, and long-term agreements
Lead opportunity development from discovery through contract award
Collaborate with engineering on technical proposals and pricing
Own account plans, customer roadmaps, and annual revenue targets
Forecast pipeline accurately and support S&OP and capacity planning
Navigate compliance requirements (ITAR, DFARS, quality standards)
Represent the company at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events
Qualification
Required
5+ years of B2B sales experience in Aerospace & Defense manufacturing
Proven success selling engineered or custom products
Strong understanding of RFQ/RFP processes
Strong understanding of long sales cycles
Strong understanding of program-based revenue
Experience working with Aerospace OEMs or Defense primes
Experience working with Tier 1 / Tier 2 suppliers
Ability to read and communicate technical requirements
Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
Hybrid role
Preferred
Background in composites, machined components, structures, or assemblies
Experience with AS9100, Nadcap, ITAR-controlled environments
CRM proficiency
EOS / structured sales process experience
Engineering or technical education a plus
