Responsibilities
Responsible for the daily operations of Accounts Payable, Banking, and Trust
Ensures all incoming requests, communications, and correspondence from the Northeast group are promptly addressed
Reconciles trust and operating bank accounts daily to identify incoming electronic payments or debits
Supports the management of client trust accounts by ensuring transactions are completed and recorded in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Processes vendor invoices and expense reimbursements
Assists with accounts receivable tracking and follow-ups
Monitors unapplied and on-account fee/disbursement balances and communicates with the Billing Coordinator on the monthly application against outstanding WIP and AR
Maintains the electronic imaging system (Expert Image) up to date
Completes sales and use tax filings for NY/NJ offices
Provides management with regular status reports on daily balances and transactions
Assist management with ad-hoc reporting or reconciliations for the regional offices
Any and all other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in accounting combined with two or more years of related experience or training in accounting procedures, specifically in a law firm setting
Must have the ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries and complaints and possess strong verbal and written communication skills
The Junior Accountant must use the utmost discretion in all aspects of the job
Must have experience in Aderant Expert, Elite, or similar legal software
Microsoft Office experience with proficiency in Excel
