Program Assistant, Bedford Hills

Responsibilities
Answer telephones, take messages, collect and distribute mail, photocopying, filing and general office duties
Support the Advocacy Program, including the supervision of phone calls
Prepare and distribute 'call outs' and memos and prepare weekly and monthly calendars of events/programs
Work with staff to support volunteers and record all data
Support the Program Director and Program Manager with staff and activity scheduling
Work with Parenting Education Coordinator to help collect and maintain enrollment and attendance
Assist in the coordination of transportation
Provide support in the other program areas as necessary to ensure coverage
Participate in Staff Meetings and take meticulous notes and distribute to staff
Coordinate program-related mailings and outreach
Comply with all prison procedures, processes and requirements, including all security regulations and PREA (Prison R•pe Elimination Act) requirements
Coordinate paperwork related to program expenses, reimbursements and receipts
Additional duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
BA or BS or 3-4 years of relevant experience working with a non-profit social service organization providing similar services
Successful completion of background investigation by DOC as part of volunteer application process
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong organization skills
Leadership qualities
Ability to walk up and down stairs throughout the facility
Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
Preferred
Spanish language fluency
Experience working in a prison setting
