As a Modeling & Simulation Engineer, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to develop and standardize HVACR system simulation models and ensure that Copeland’s products meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with global simulation and engineering teams to identify opportunities to apply 1D/2D/3D model-based simulation techniques and processes
Development & implementation of simulation models to aid design of HVACR systems, sub-systems, components using industry leading simulation tools
Verify and validate (V&V) simulation models. This will require partnering with global subject matter experts, creating test plans, and/or leveraging available test data by working with other engineering teams
Democratization efforts of validated simulation models for the engineering community
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in scientific or engineering discipline
Experience working with 1D/3D simulations tools and their application in the Simulation Driven design approach
Proven track record of applying fundamental engineering principles and creative thinking to drive timely engineering decisions
Strong investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative partnerships on a global basis
Proven computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Preferred
Master's degree in scientific or engineering discipline and 1 year of relevant experience
Hands-on experience using model-based engineering concepts, principles, and theories to aid creation of simulation models or process
Experience using GT Suite, Ansys (Mechanical/Fluent), Abaqus software preferred
Deep knowledge of the engineering physics, multi-physics 1D/3D simulations, material calibration, verification & validation (V&V) techniques, statistics, and engineering analysis
Experience in using common programing languages (VB, python, C, C++ etc.)
Experience with process automation & optimization tools such as HEEDS, ISight will be a plus
