Responsibilities
Lead underwriting and credit risk management across consumer and small business lending including individual and business loans
Design implement and optimize automated underwriting and credit decisioning models within digital lending platforms
Develop write and manage credit policies underwriting standards and governance frameworks including FICO thresholds and debt ratio limits
Implement risk based pricing strategies loan loss models and portfolio level analytics
Monitor portfolio performance including approval rates delinquency losses FICO distributions and pricing effectiveness
Partner with the CRO and senior leadership on credit strategy growth initiatives and new product launches
Support financing partner relationships through portfolio reporting and credit risk insights
Collaborate with legal teams to ensure compliant credit documentation and regulatory alignment
Manage third party vendors including credit bureaus loan processors analytics providers and collections agencies
Lead mentor and develop a high performing underwriting and credit risk team
Qualification
Required
10 or more years of experience in banking and or fintech with a strong focus on underwriting and credit risk
Minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership or people management role
Proven experience building data driven automated and scalable underwriting platforms
Strong background in consumer lending and small business equipment lending
At least 2 years of experience managing sub prime credit portfolios
Hands on experience evaluating individual and business loans using FICO scores debt ratios and borrower level metrics
Demonstrated experience developing and managing credit policies and partnering with legal teams
Strong execution discipline with a hands on leadership style
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Finance or a quantitative field
Ability to commute to Woodbridge New Jersey three days per week
Preferred
Experience managing both prime and sub prime loan portfolios in the United States
Background in delinquency management collections strategy and loss mitigation
Strong ability to communicate complex credit concepts to technical and non technical stakeholders
Experience working with credit bureaus loan processors and collections agencies
Familiarity with machine learning driven underwriting models and emerging credit risk trends
