Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement database systems based on user and business requirements
Optimize and tune databases for performance, efficiency, and resource utilization
Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, and user guides for database projects
Manage database space and capacity planning
Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance through best practices and regular audits
Develop database objects including tables, dictionaries, complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers
Perform regular backups and develop/test database recovery procedures
Test databases, troubleshoot issues, perform bug fixes, and drive continuous improvement
Collaborate with stakeholders and IT teams to ensure system integration and support
Qualification
Required
Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience in database development and design
Direct experience working with the Accessible Tool for Learning About Students (ATLAS) application
Proficient in SQL Server and Redis database management systems
Skilled in reporting and visualization tools: Cognos, HTML Grids, and HTML Charts
Experienced in Windows operating systems
Strong background in database performance optimization and tuning
Advanced skills in developing scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and database functions
Deep understanding of data quality management and data integrity

Clear highlight of relevant skills and experience
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred)
Relevant SQL Server or Database Management certifications (a plus)
Experience with cloud-based or alternative database platforms
Familiarity with DevOps/CI-CD practices for database deployments
Knowledge of NoSQL databases or additional reporting tools
