SATCOM Helpdesk Support Technician

Responsibilities

Provide technical assistance as part of a SATCOM helpdesk team
Maintain, repair and upgrade EHF/AEHF SATCOM Systems
Conduct site surveys, installations, integration, and acceptance testing of EHF/AEHF SATCOM systems
Interface directly with the customer, work independently or as part of a team, and provide written status to management
Travel up to 25% of the time both CONUS and OCONUS, interface directly with the customer, work independently or as part of a team, and provide written status to management

Required

Typically requires a bachelor's in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain a higher clearance level after start
Experience in troubleshooting and repair of SATCOM systems including two (2) years' combined experience on Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) SATCOM systems
Experience reading and interpreting procedures, work instructions, schematics, diagrams, and assembly instructions
Experience using hand and power tools and electrical/electronic test equipment
Experience working in a military environment

Preferred

Prefer a local candidate
Experience working with the Family of Advanced Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T), or Global Aircrew Strategic Network Terminal (GASN-T)
Active duty or reserve military experience is desirable but not required
Experience working in the field, independently as a Field Service Engineer or representative a plus
Experience with MS Office products including Excel, Word, Access, Power Point, and Visio
A Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Field and 2 years relevant experience OR an Associate's degree and 6 years of relevant experience OR at least 10 years relevant experience with no degree. Relevant experience includes military experience on similar complex SATCOM equipment
