Responsibilities

Perform wet laboratory analysis, fuel/oil sampling, and daily water quality monitoring
Conduct environmental sampling, testing, and reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements (NPDES, RCRA, Storm Water)
Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot field and laboratory instrumentation including sensors, switches, valves, and analyzers
Support electronic and electrical maintenance, including PLC programming, logic control, and schematic interpretation
Inspect, repair, and maintain Numatec air-operated control systems, positioners, and transmitters
Submit and manage electronic work requests for equipment deficiencies
Collaborate with plant operations, maintenance, engineering, and environmental teams to address technical and operational issues
Prepare and review technical data, reports, and documentation for internal and external use
Support wastewater treatment operations and ensure performance and reliability of lab and field equipment
Follow all safety procedures, ensuring lab and field work adheres to EHS standards

Required

Hands-on Environmental Laboratory & Instrumentation Technician to support environmental testing, laboratory operations, and instrumentation maintenance in a heavy industrial/power plant setting

Conduct environmental sampling, testing, and reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements (NPDES, RCRA, Storm Water)

High School Diploma or GED with relevant experience will be considered
1+ year of maintenance, operational, or laboratory experience in a power plant or chemical processing facility
Electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting
Calibration and preventive maintenance of lab and field instruments
PLC programming and logic control interpretation
Physical & Work Requirements: Regularly required to stand, walk, kneel, climb, and lift materials up to 40 lbs
Comfortable working in industrial environments (heat, noise, confined spaces)
Must be available for weekend on-call rotations and overtime as needed
Regular and reliable attendance required

Preferred

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Instrumentation, Electronics, or related field
Experience with Numatec air control systems, PLCs, sensors, instrumentation calibration, and troubleshooting
Understanding of power plant systems (steam cycle, turbines, boilers) and environmental monitoring/compliance practices
Hands-on background from trade school, apprenticeship, or military technical training is a plus
Familiarity with RO systems, ion exchange, filtration, and wastewater treatment processes
Knowledge of NPDES, Storm Water, RCRA, and waste management regulations
