HHC - Supervising Support Care Assistant - 0500017
The State of Missouri is recruiting for a Supervising Support Care Assistant (SSCA) at the Higginsville Habilitation Center, a state-operated program that supports adults with developmental disabilities. The SSCA will be responsible for administering medication, overseeing staff, and ensuring the well-being of clients through direct care and communication with families and healthcare providers.

Responsibilities
Administering medication and other prescribed treatments
Taking vital signs
Assisting with care plan activities
Observing and reporting client conditions and behaviors
Participating in rehabilitation, ambulation, and transfers
Communicating with doctors, clients, and families
Educating clients on their care
Providing transport to offsite appointments
Overseeing work of other support care staff by managing the schedule of staff
Directly supervising float staff
Acting as the supervisor in charge
Taking on-call responsibility
Evaluating work of assigned staff
Qualification
Required
Detail-oriented
Work well with others
Good time management skills
Possess leadership skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office and other computer programs
Willing to travel on occasion
Accountable for administering medication and other prescribed treatments
Taking vital signs
Assisting with care plan activities
Observing and reporting client conditions and behaviors
Participating in rehabilitation, ambulation, and transfers
Communicates with doctors, clients, and families
Educates clients on their care
Provides transport to offsite appointments
Oversees work of other support care staff
Manages the schedule of staff
Directly supervises float staff
Acts as the supervisor in charge
Takes on-call responsibility
Knowledge of facility practices, rules and regulations
Methods and techniques of supervision
Ability to evaluate work of assigned staff
Preferred
Two or more years of experience in the field of developmental disabilities
Experience working with individuals and teams to ensure that rights are protected
Experience supervising, scheduling, and working with teams
