Responsibilities
Designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-level backup and disaster recovery solutions
Collaborating with infrastructure teams, cloud engineers, security specialists, and business stakeholders to ensure that critical data is reliably protected, recoverable, and compliant with relevant regulations and service-level agreements
Maintaining and supporting a variety of backup and storage systems, including Comm Vault, Commvault Cloud, Auto-Recovery (DR), M365 Protection, Azure AD Protection, Cloud VM Backups, Air Gap Protect (AGP), Commvault Clean Room, Dell/EMC, IBM, NetApp, and Pure Storage
Administering, installing, configuring, and maintaining all backup and storage solutions
Creating CommVault backup jobs for Linux, UNIX, and Windows hosts
Managing Network Attached Storage (NAS) through NDMP
Working with databases such as DB2, SQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL
Handling the masking, zoning, and provisioning of storage for UNIX, Windows, and VMware servers
Overseeing all data backup and recovery support for cloud service providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), OCI and IBM Cloud
Planning regular system upgrades, checking system health, and implementing necessary adjustments
Analyzing issues reported by both internal and external teams, offering recommendations and designing systems architecture
Collaborating with customers to test applications post-changes and upgrading hardware efficiently with minimal downtime
Evaluating new application software technologies and ensuring security products are consistently patched
Qualification
Required
Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Senior Backup Solutions Architect, or similar, for data protection systems, such as Comm Vault and Comm Vault Cloud, including configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting within enterprise environments
Six (6) years of experience with storage solutions from Dell/EMC, IBM, NetApp, and Pure Storage, encompassing both midrange and enterprise-class storage arrays
Seven (7) years of experience using, configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting cloud-based backup, servers, and storage systems in enterprise settings
Bachelor's degree in an IT-related or Computer Science field
Credentials as a Commvault Certified Professional Administrator
In-depth understanding, knowledge and experience of Commvault and Commvault Cloud SaaS solutions
Experience in AWS, Microsoft Azure, OCI and GCP
Ability to effectively document technical information and communicate seamlessly with business teams, customers, and technical teams in areas like networking, security, and vendor management
Ability to perform data protection for On-premises and Public-Cloud using Commvault and perform regular upgrades
Ability to execute storage migrations and consolidate data centers
Ability to manage Pure Storage solutions, both hardware and software
Well-versed in Data Protection and storage systems, particularly Dell and NetApp solutions like ONTAP, Snap Mirror, and Snap Vault
Familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell and Python for automating tasks
Proficiency with UNIX systems (IBM AIX, Linux, HP-UX) and networking hardware
Ability to design and manage scalable cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, GCP, and IBM Cloud
Strong oral and written communication skills
Effective time management and attention to detail
Ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences
