Systems Field Engineer (Transit Construction)
Stacy Witbeck is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Systems Field Engineer to join the East San Fernando Light Rail team, a major transit infrastructure project in the San Fernando Valley. The role involves supervising and supporting the installation of transit and communication systems, managing subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities
Field Operations: Supervise, support and implement the installation of transit and communication systems. Able to translate construction plans and specifications into work plans for installation and testing
Communication: Interface and coordinate with prime contractors, owners, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders. Provide input for sound and timely managerial decisions. Capable of leading meetings
Subcontractor Management: Vetting subcontractors for licenses, insurance, and past performance to minimize risk. Clearly defining expectations, safety protocols, and scope of work. Tracking progress, quality, and adherence to timelines to avoid project delays. Handling invoicing, milestone payments, and change orders
Technical Support: Provide on-site engineering support, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure minimal downtime during operations. Understand Transit systems construction plans, specifications, and drawings. Develop, review, and package various technical documents for submittals
Reporting & Documentation: Generate daily reports, as-built data, and RFI (Request for Information) documents. Develop, review, and package various technical documents for submittals. Identify and document any delays or changes to scope of work. Support scheduling, planning, and budgeting activities
Quality Control & Safety: Ensure all installations meet regulatory standards and project specifications. Assures compliance with company safety policies and OSHA safety standards
Qualification
Required
0-3 years of experience within similar construction environment, internships included
Strong communication skills and professionalism when interacting with field crews and agency representatives
Strong organizational skills, the ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks and structure work flows to maximize productivity
Have a Valid U.S. Driver's License in good standing
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and navigate uneven surfaces, access structures, and confined environments
Preferred
B.S. in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is preferred, or relative work experience in similar construction environment
Strong interest in transportation and transit systems
Rail transit experience
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents
Ability to coordinate with field superintendents and craft personnel
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, Box, Procore or similar platforms is a plus
Basic understanding of project CPM schedules
