Responsibilities
Perform mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems design for commercial and institutional projects
Develop calculations, layouts, and technical documentation
Coordinate designs with architects, engineers, and internal teams
Research and interpret applicable building codes and standards
Interface with city, state, and county officials as required
Review shop drawings, submittals, and contractor RFIs
Participate in bidding and construction administration
Senior level: oversee project design, resolve complex issues, and mentor junior staff
Qualification
Required
MEP design experience within a consulting engineering environment
Discipline expertise in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems
Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
Strong understanding of building codes and design standards
Typically 8–10+ years of systems design experience (for Senior Designer)
Ability to lead design efforts independently (for Senior Designer)
Typically 2–6 years of systems design experience (for Designer)
Preferred
BSME, BSEE, or related degree (for Designer)
EIT preferred but not required (for Designer)
