Electric Vehicle Technician

Insight Global is seeking A-Level Technicians and C-Level Technicians to work for a premium electric vehicle (EV) brand that designs, develops, and sells high-performance, tech-focused battery electric cars. This Electric Vehicle Technician will specifically work on robo-taxis and will be primarily responsible for diagnosing and repairing the vehicles.

Responsibilities

Performs work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with company standards
Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and perform repair using schematics and/or diagnostic equipment
Communicates with the parts department to obtain needed parts
Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by our technical team
Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
Communicates with the shop foreman immediately if additional work is needed, if the work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
Documents all work performed and recommended on the work order
Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the shop foreman
Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins/recalls
Supervises the work of other technicians and provides guidance and mentorship to them
Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor
Notifies the shop foreman immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle
Keeps the shop area neat and clean
Maintains and is accountable for all company-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received
Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
Reports any safety issues immediately to leadership

Required

1-5+ years of experience as an Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Technician (specifically hands-on experience with technology, diagnostics, and repair)
1-5+ years of hands-on experience with technology, diagnostics, and repair of Electric/Hybrid vehicles
Experience in understanding and complying with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc

Preferred

Experience working on autonomous vehicles
2+ Automotive Technician Certifications (ASE or OEM)
Supervisory experience
