Licensing Associate

Responsibilities

Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations impacting alcohol, tobacco, lottery, and other regulated operations
Determine required licenses and permits for new and existing convenience store operations
Prepare, submit, and track license and permit applications, renewals, amendments, and related payments in a timely manner
Maintain centralized licensing database (LicenseHQ) with accurate and up-to-date records
Monitor expiration dates and proactively manage renewal deadlines
Research and interpret regulatory changes that may affect licensing requirements
Collaborate with operations, legal, and finance teams to gather necessary documentation and ensure accuracy in filings
Serve as a primary contact with municipalities, government agencies, and external vendors regarding licensing matters
Identify opportunities to improve licensing processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce compliance risk

Required

Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and adapt quickly to regulatory changes
Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills

Preferred

Associate degree preferred; equivalent college experience or work experience considered
Experience in licensing, permitting, compliance, or regulatory administration (corporate or government environment preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with compliance or license tracking databases preferred
