Deputy Director Directorate of Simulation
The U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command is seeking a Deputy Director for the Directorate of Simulation located at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. Responsibilities
Serve as Senior Training Mission Support Manager for the directorate, establishing long range plans for the accomplishment and sustainment of mission functions and programs
Manage mission training efforts across aviation and military education programs
Provide planning guidance for experiments, tests, exercises, and other venues to support senior leaders in evaluating training program effectiveness
In the Director's absence, provide supervisory oversight and manage the execution of functions performed by the divisions as well as consult and contractor personnel assigned to support various programs and projects
Develop research designs and analysis that optimize the use of simulators and simulation in training delivery
Qualification
Required
You must possess a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position
A combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described above
At least one year of experience which includes providing authoritative guidance covering training support goals, functions and requirements of a directorate
Planning, administering and managing program execution of an organization's mission requirements
Applying current technical knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of simulation training exercises
Preparing annual budget expenditures for a directorate
Communicating orally and in writing with Commanding and Senior Executive Officers at the highest levels
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation
This position requires a Secret Security Clearance
This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) business travel up to 40% of the time
This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter
This position requires a One year Supervisory Probation Period
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13)
Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--NO substitution of education for experience is permitted
