Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement new automation systems to support manufacturing operations

Program and deploy PLC systems using ladder logic and structured text

Develop and maintain robotic automation solutions, primarily using Universal Robots or similar collaborative robotics platforms

Troubleshoot and optimize existing automated systems, PLCs, robotics, and electrical controls

Develop LabVIEW programs to monitor and/or control manufacturing processes (nice to have)

Program and configure HMIs for system monitoring and control

Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC documentation

Perform limited mechanical CAD work including models, BOMs, and drawings to support automation builds

Develop software and scripts to collect and analyze operational data using SQL, Python, or other scripting languages

Work with Ethernet-based industrial communication systems (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, OPC UA)

Collaborate with production, engineering, management, and third-party vendors

Write and update manufacturing and engineering procedures

Train production personnel on new automation systems and processes

Required

Minimum 3+ years of experience in automation, PLC programming, and industrial systems (open to more experience)

Strong experience with PLC programming, ladder logic, and structured text

Hands-on experience with traditional manufacturing equipment (lathes, mills, presses, etc.)

Ability to design and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings

Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and automation systems

Knowledge of industrial sensors, actuators, and control components
