Disability Claims Analyst - Long Term Disability (LTD)

Responsibilities
Investigate and analyze medical, occupational, and policy information to determine LTD eligibility and resolve discrepancies within required timeframes
Make and communicate disability decisions, issue accurate benefits, and manage each claim with an appropriate liability and disability management strategy
Monitor ongoing medical updates, vocational factors, policy provisions, and deductible income to drive timely and appropriate claim resolution
Provide proactive, professional communication to claimants, policyholders, and internal partners; resolve issues and support client‑facing activities as needed
Support team effectiveness by approving decisions from less‑experienced staff, providing training, and ensuring accurate claim data and reserve liability
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum eighteen months progressively responsible experience in disability claims administration; or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience
Demonstrated skills for appropriate, timely and customer-focused disability claim account management and administration
Ability to analyze and apply medical, technical, contractual and legal information to manage an increasingly complex range of disability claims
Demonstrate working knowledge of Federal, State and local laws and regulations affecting claim investigation, disability decision, and taxation of benefits
Preferred
5+ years of progressive experience in LTD (long term disability) claims (HIGHLY PREFERRED)
