Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, and assign inspection tasks (NDE and dimensional) to inspection personnel based on production priorities
Ensure all NDE inspections (MT, PT, VT, and others as qualified) are executed in accordance with applicable procedures, industry codes, and customer requirements
Review and approve inspection results, reports, and records prior to release
Coordinate with manufacturing and engineering teams to address non-conformances, technical issues, and workflow challenges
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing to provide technical insight regarding inspection requirements and outcomes
Supervise, mentor, train, and develop NDE inspectors and dimensional inspectors
Ensure employees maintain required certifications and training (SNT-TC-1A, code updates, internal qualifications, etc.)
Conduct performance evaluations and participate in selection and onboarding of new inspection personnel
Promote a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement
Supervise, mentor, train, and develop NDE inspectors and dimensional inspectors
Ensure employees maintain required certifications and training (SNT-TC-1A, code updates, internal qualifications, etc.)

Required

NDT Level II ASNT SNT-TC-1A certifications in MT, PT, and VT (required)
3–5 years of NDE inspection experience, with at least 1–2 years in a lead, supervisory, or mentoring capacity
Deep understanding of industry codes, quality systems, and manufacturing processes
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and specifications
Excellent communication, leadership, decision-making, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments

Preferred

Strong knowledge of dimensional inspection tools, techniques, and GD&T fundamentals
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training strongly preferred
Dimensional inspection certifications or documented proficiency (CMM, laser tracker, precision metrology)
Additional NDT Level II certifications (UT or RT)
Experience with heavy fabrication, machining, or nuclear manufacturing environments
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital inspection/reporting systems
