Responsibilities
Lead teams to deliver projects that span multiple department and business units from planning and overseeing projects within the organization, from the initial ideation through completion
Coordinate people and processes to deliver projects on time, within budget and with the desired outcomes aligned to objectives while monitoring and reporting on the progress throughout the project
Mentor Project Managers on project management methodologies and tools to build consensus in project approaches
Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span multiple lines of business and business units from onset through post implementation activities
Manage resources, schedules, financials and adhere to stage gate quality throughout the lifecycle of the project
Management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time delivery
Contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery
Provide mentor support to Project Managers on the team, coaching them on project management processes and documentation, answering questions and being a resource
Lead education and training as it relates to project management across The James
Promote good working relationships across projects, cultivating the skills needed to build trust and communication among all of the project’s stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in business or related field and at least 6 years of relevant project management experience or Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of relevant project management experience
Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, active listening and facilitation skills
Experience managing, executing, and sustaining major change initiatives
Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete large-scale projects
Excellent writing skills and the ability to identify opportunities to disseminate information in an effective and efficient manner
Advanced experience in computer applications, including Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Projects), and SharePoint
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team to build relationships, collaborate, and work in a complex environment to build consensus
Preferred
Project management (PMP) certification strongly preferred
