Assistant BIM Coordinator

SPC Mechanical Corporation is seeking an Assistant BIM Coordinator who will serve as the key technical and implementation source for BIM on assigned projects. The role involves maintaining effective relationships with design, project, and client teams while providing guidance on project BIM implementation and ensuring the quality and accuracy of models.

Responsibilities

Lead coordination effort for the company; direct Drafter / Spoolers as needed. Attend coordination meetings
Complete understanding of job specs, schedule, and construction sequencing
Labeling, dimensioning, and printing of drawings; Placing of Trimble points
Provide assistance in creating, updating, and maintaining libraries of equipment and fittings for the CADD system
Maintain and file all sketches and drawings by name-number location
Provide detailed shop drawings of duct and piping as required for the complete project, within the time frames provided by the project manager or department manager
Provide piping assembly drawings for Pipe Fab Shop, Sheet Metal Shop, and/or Prefabrication Shops
Learn all necessary information regarding mechanical installations that will apply to CADD systems
Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimensions of parts, materials to be used, the relation of one part to another, and the relation of various parts to the whole structure or project
Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings
Make any adjustments or changes necessary or desired
Draw charts for the representation of statistical data
Draws finished designs from sketches
Uses computer-assisted drafting and design (CADD) equipment and software – Revit, AutoCAD MEP

Required

Minimum of three years in a related role (BIM, drafting, coordination) or equivalent combination of education and experience
Proven ability to work with design, project, and client teams
Comfortable attending and contributing to coordination meetings
Uses computer-assisted drafting and design (CADD) equipment and software – Revit, AutoCAD MEP

Preferred

Degree or training in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related technical field is preferred
