Utilities Manager
Yondr is a global developer, owner operator, and service provider of data centers, seeking a Utilities Manager to drive the design process from early concept through project handover. This role involves managing utility relationships, overseeing agreements with Independent Power Producers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on power-related initiatives.

Responsibilities
Assist with Utility Relationship Management: Co-own relationship with current and potential utility partners. Understand the utility partner’s organization, energy programs, and lead regular leadership exchanges
IPP Agreement Oversight: In coordination with Energy operations, manage and oversee agreements with Independent Power Producers (IPPs), ensuring that contracts align with the company’s energy procurement goals and compliance requirements
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
On Site Power Generation & Storage: In coordination with Global Design and Construction, evaluate OSPG and storage options for long term power needs, bridging solutions, and or grid services
Market Analysis and Strategy: Monitor and analyze energy markets, regulatory changes, identifying trends and opportunities that inform the company’s long-term power strategies
Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance on power regional power strategy, including origination, utilities/IPP management, & regulatory changes, ensuring that the company’s power infrastructure is delivered on time, reliably, and aligned with industry best practices
Project Oversight: Contribute to power strategy for new and existing developments from origination through energization and ongoing relationships with power providers
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, legal, and finance, to ensure alignment on power-related initiatives and goals
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with power procurement, utility connections, and IPP agreements, ensuring the company’s energy needs are met without compromising on quality or cost-effectiveness
Is a subject matter expert to others in and outside of the group. Extensive knowledge of multiple facets of the relevant engineering discipline
Collaborate with Finance and Procurement personnel to develop and manage budgets, ensuring appropriate resource allocation and cost control
Ensure lessons learned at a project level are documented and placed in the feedback loop for continuous improvement at a program level
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Manage RFI resolution, design clarifications, change controls, drawing revisions, and design risk escalations
Manage design consultants, AE firms, specialty vendors, and technical stakeholders to deliver full drawings, specifications, calculations, BIM models, and design basis documentation
Project Development/Management: Proven experience leading multiple complex projects related to energy infrastructure and procurement. This includes that ability to influence internally and externally. Project kickoff documentation, scheduling, risk register, design logs, change tracking, and executive reporting cadence
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in power origination, utilities connection agreements, relationship management, data center development, project planning with significant experience in Transmission/Distribution engineering and construction
Bachelor's degree in Energy Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Proven experience leading multiple complex projects related to energy infrastructure and procurement
Ability to influence internally and externally
Experience with project kickoff documentation, scheduling, risk register, design logs, change tracking, and executive reporting cadence
Preferred
Advanced degree or certifications in energy management or project management
Applicable real-world experience in wholesale or retail power markets
