Responsibilities
Oversee the full billing cycle including invoice preparation, review, and distribution
Ensure billing aligns with client contracts, scopes of work, fee structures, and billing guidelines
Partner with account teams and project managers to resolve billing questions and discrepancies
Review and approve complex invoices prior to client submission
Manage billing adjustments, write offs, and re billings
Support month-end close activities related to billing, revenue, and AR
Prepare and assist with balance sheet and billing related reconciliations
Assist with billing related journal entries and revenue support schedules
Maintain billing procedures, internal controls, and documentation
Serve as the primary point of contact for billing related inquiries
Support audits and special projects as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
5+ years of billing experience within a professional services environment
Prior experience supervising or leading billing staff
Strong understanding of project based, time and expense, or retainer billing models
Experience with billing and accounting systems
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Effective communicator comfortable working with senior stakeholders
