Responsibilities
Leads the design and development of multiple components or complex subsystems within larger engineering programs
Applies expertise in one or more technical disciplines to support team and organizational objectives
Works independently with minimal supervision, exercising sound engineering judgment
Develops feasibility studies, verification plans, and test methods to validate product and system performance
Collaborates with engineering peers and cross-functional stakeholders to define operating procedures, resolve technical issues, and provide design guidance
Reviews and analyzes design proposals, specifications, manuals, and technical data to evaluate feasibility, cost, reliability, and maintainability
Supports prototype fabrication, qualification builds, and pre-production manufacturing activities
Works closely with Manufacturing, Test, Electrical, and Quality teams to resolve engineering issues and maintain accurate documentation and bills of materials
Ensures product designs comply with environmental and qualification standards such as RTCA DO-160
Supports and coordinates certification efforts in accordance with applicable FAA regulations
Interfaces with certification authorities, designated engineering representatives, and regulatory bodies during design reviews and compliance demonstrations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 5–6+ years of experience
Experience designing components using manufacturing processes such as injection molding, die casting, machining, vacuum forming, and sheet metal fabrication
Strong knowledge of materials, tolerancing, and manufacturing processes
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Hands-on experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent
Familiarity with PDM and PLM systems and configuration management processes
