Responsibilities
Manage full caseload of premises liability, Labor Law/construction accident, auto and municipal defense files from intake through trial or settlement
Draft and argue substantive motions including summary judgment and Labor Law §240/241(6) dismissals in Nassau Supreme and EDNY
Take and defend depositions of plaintiffs, treating physicians, engineers and municipal witnesses across Long Island venues
Coordinate medical and biomechanical experts with the firm’s in-house RN paralegals to dismantle damages claims early
First- or second-chair jury trials in Nassau, Suffolk and federal courts with partners who average 100+ trials each
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active New York State Bar admission
Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance defense litigation
Experience managing a full caseload of premises liability, Labor Law/construction accident, auto and municipal defense files
Proven ability to draft and argue substantive motions including summary judgment and Labor Law §240/241(6) dismissals
Experience taking and defending depositions of plaintiffs, treating physicians, engineers and municipal witnesses
Ability to coordinate medical and biomechanical experts
Experience with first- or second-chair jury trials in Nassau, Suffolk and federal courts
