Procurement Specialist II

They are seeking a Procurement Specialist II to join their Purchasing & Logistics Team, responsible for managing the procurement of services and commodities for the agency, including vendor identification and purchase order preparation.

Responsibilities

Review authorized requisitions
Make determination of appropriate acquisition procedure (order against existing State Contract, quote, bid, forward to State Purchase and Contract) based on nature of requisition item(s) and dollar amounts as authorized by State Law
Preparations of purchase orders
Coordinate execution of purchase agreements
Maintaining records and preparing reports
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with departmental personnel and manufacturer' representatives
Ability to apply and interpret established rules and regulations

Required

Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of procurement experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with departmental personnel and manufacturer' representatives
Ability to apply and interpret established rules and regulations

Preferred

Thorough working knowledge and understanding of large-scale purchasing methods and procedures
General knowledge of various services being procured
Attaching transcripts is optional; however, we recommend applicants attach unofficial transcripts to assist in providing credit for education including in substituting education gained for experience
Applicants who earned college credit hours but did not complete a degree program must attach an unofficial transcript to receive credit for education
International degrees and transcripts must be evaluated for accreditation by a recognized evaluation service by the closing date of this posting
