Bronx Zoo Retail Operations Manager

Wildlife Conservation Society is seeking a Retail Operations Manager for the Bronx Zoo. The Retail Operations Manager will oversee all retail locations, ensuring efficient operations, guest services, merchandising, and inventory management.

Inspire and Lead: Show dynamic leadership ability and promote a positive and inspiring atmosphere for both our Team Members and Guests
Collaborate and Grow: Ensure your department’s team is set with the operation in mind: hire & recruit for new talent, integrate new team members, supervise assigned personnel, evaluate performance, develop, coach, and mentor a talented team that shares your passion for delivering exceptional guest service
Drive Excellence: Manage daily operations with a focus on guest service, visual merchandising, team management, and driving sales
Create Memorable Experiences: Ensure every guest leaves with a smile by delivering exceptional service and creating a store environment that mirrors the excitement of the Zoo
Financial Management: Manage payroll and controllable profit within established guidelines to meet financial objectives
Master Merchandising: Keep our stores visually stunning by developing and implementing presentation plans and staying ahead of merchandising trends
Set High Standards: Hold yourself and your team accountable to the highest performance standards, consistently exceeding guest expectations. Visual Merchandising: Designing and implementing visually appealing product displays that attract customers and enhance the shopping experience
Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels to ensure adequate stock is available to meet customer demand. Conduct annual inventory
Sales Performance: Analyzing sales data to determine product placement, stock levels and throughput, impacting sales performance. Ensure team is familiar with key analytics and utilizes them for planning decisions
Collaboration: Work closely with the buyer to ensure optimal product placement and stock levels
Training: Coordinate training of associates, supervise staff on a daily basis
Guest Service Excellence: Ensure every guest receives outstanding service, contributing to a memorable experience

Required

Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of store operations or a combination of store operations and visual merchandising experience
Excellent writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Must demonstrate creative thinking
Must be extremely detailed-oriented and maintain a high level of accuracy
Must work independently and be comfortable working with large volumes of data
Must be able to multi-task and have excellent time-management skills
Experience training, managing, and developing staff
Energetic individual will need to keep up with fast-paced retail environment and must be physically capable of moving 50lbs
Experience communicating across a variety of departments
Valid Driver's license required
Experience with an inventory database or software
