Unit Clerk

The Grand Healthcare System is seeking a dedicated and organized Unit Clerk to join their team. In this role, you’ll support daily operations and ensure efficient communication and care coordination for residents.

Responsibilities

Maintain and update patient records
Review charts for accuracy and completeness, notifying the healthcare team of necessary updates
Coordinate transportation for residents to appointments and activities. Accompany residents as needed
Assist residents with departure preparations and communicate with drivers to ensure timely arrivals
Transcribe nurses’ orders per policy
Perform general clerical duties such as faxing, copying, and answering phones
Greet visitors and providers, assisting as needed
Communicate with healthcare team members, patients, and visitors via phone and intercom
Update and manage patient profiles, ensuring information is current upon admission, discharge, or transfer
Assist nursing staff with bed-making and restocking utility rooms
Transport residents to activities, rehabilitation sessions, and appointments as needed
Stock and manage supplies, including linens and IV supplies
Assist with receiving and sorting supplies, ensuring accurate inventory and charge tracking
Prepare and maintain the unit’s medical information system, including uploading forms and resident records to the electronic system

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
Reliable transportation to and from the facility
