Responsibilities
Assists in identifying any impediments to completing work assignments (parts shortages, tool/equipment needs, etc.) and takes appropriate actions to obtain or correct deficiencies
Assists in providing and/or arranging for less skilled employees to receive training from more knowledgeable employees so as to broaden their and the department’s skill base
Assumes administrative duties (i.e., maintenance of employee time records, production reports, etc.)
Is able to operate machines/use tools and perform any job assignment within the department, performing work assignments within the department on an as needed basis
Assists the Plant Manager in ensuring all Company approved policies and procedures are maintained within the department, particularly safety and hazardous material protocols
Assists in coaching and counseling employees having performance or behavioral issues, keeping the supervisor fully advised and recommending corrective actions as they may be required
Cooperates and coordinates with other departments to ensure there is a well-organized and timely flow of work
Lead, Manage, and Hold others accountable for productivity and quality
Maximizes utilization of resources, both machine and labor to ensure quality production and customer satisfaction; maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
Establishes work instructions and problem solves at the work center for effective repeatability and provides recommendations & input for process improvements
Maintains safe operations through 5S and by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
Qualification
Required
Requires a strong understanding of leadership and business management
3+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) integrated systems environment preferred
The employee must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form
Responsibilities include supervision, training, and assisting employees
Moderate physical activity requiring agility and dexterity, including walking, standing or bending; and lifting or moving objects
The employee must be knowledgeable in regard to the safety policies and procedures of the Company as described in the Company safety manual
The employee must adhere to all said policies and procedures while supporting the goals and objectives of the organization and recognize the Company's need to achieve its business objective
Employee is responsible for complying with company hazardous waste disposal procedures
Preferred
3+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) integrated systems environment preferred
