Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team focused on detection, anomaly detection, NER, PII, log clustering, and event grouping models
Contribute to the technical direction of Applied AI initiatives in partnership with senior engineers and Product
Support career growth for engineers through coaching, feedback, and fostering a culture of inclusion and psychological safety
Work closely with product managers and partner teams to deliver projects from research to production at Datadog scale
Drive day-to-day execution and promote high standards for operational excellence, system reliability, and technical quality
Participate in hiring and help shape the future team as the organization grows
Encourage best practices in machine learning, AI engineering, and operational rigor
Contribute to cross-team collaboration and knowledge sharing across the broader AI organization
Qualification
Required
A technical leader with experience in AI, machine learning, or data science
Proven experience building and shipping ML- or AI-powered products
Experience leading and mentoring engineers; ready to grow into broader leadership responsibilities
Strong technical expertise in one or more areas: deep learning, anomaly detection, time series modeling, NLP for semi-structured data
Comfortable working with Product to break down ambiguous problems and plan high-quality deliverables
A people-focused manager able to develop and support strong engineering talent
BS/MS/PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
