Accounting Specialist

Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and expense reimbursements
Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments. Resolve discrepancies and inquiries from vendors
Generate customer invoices, monitor accounts receivable aging, and follow up on overdue payments. Coordinate with internal teams to resolve billing issues
Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between bank statements and accounting records
Assist in the month-end closing process by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and generating financial reports
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, variance analysis, and other ad hoc financial reports as required
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations. Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations
Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries, and addressing audit findings
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the accounting function. Implement best practices to streamline processes and enhance accuracy
Collaborate with other departments such as procurement, sales, and operations to address financial issues, provide support, and ensure alignment with organizational goals
Qualification
Required
Highly adaptable in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent team player, self-starter, and the ability to work independently
Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with clients and team members
Ability to identify priorities and meet deadlines
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles preferred
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
Experience with QuickBooks, HubSpot, or Bank of America CashPro a plus
