1+ years expFlex HR is partnering with a Dallas based client to find a Staff Accountant. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
Human Resources
Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries; maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
Reconcile bank statements and investigate discrepancies
Track grant spending, ensure compliance with donor restrictions, and assist with audits and regulatory filings (e.g., 1099s)
Monitor expenses against budget, track budget-to-actual variances, and assist with budget preparation
Manage full-cycle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), including recording incoming donations
Input payroll data and prepare related journal entries
Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation as needed
Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations
Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, and internal accounting policies
Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
1–5 years of accounting experience
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, MIP, or other ERP systems)
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Understanding of GAAP, nonprofit accounting, fund accounting, and 501(c)(3) regulations
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
High ethical standards and integrity
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
