Responsibilities

Process accurate and timely weekly/bi-weekly payroll, including adjustments, audits, deductions, and compliance checks
Administer employee benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, 401k, life insurance, etc.)
Coordinate open enrollment and support employees with benefits, questions or changes
Maintain payroll and benefits records and ensure compliance with reporting requirements
Maintain HRIS data accuracy, personnel files, and required documentation
Support HR reporting, headcount tracking, and basic metrics
Assist with improving HR processes, forms, workflows, and communication tools
Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
Support recruiting activities for hourly and entry-level salaried roles (posting jobs, screening, coordinating interviews)
Manage onboarding and orientation for new hires, including paperwork, training coordination, and plant introductions
Serve as a visible and approachable HR partner on the production floor
Support supervisors with employee questions, attendance concerns, documentation, and performance conversations
Help resolve basic employee relations issues and escalate more complex matters to senior HR leadership as needed
Promote a respectful, inclusive, and safety-focused work environment
Coordinate required training (safety, compliance, skills development)
Assist managers in communicating performance expectations and maintaining consistent documentation
Help employees understand policies, benefits, and workplace practices

Required

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in manufacturing, distribution, or similar settings
Working knowledge of employment laws, wage & hour rules, HR compliance basics, and safety fundamentals
Practical experience with payroll processing and benefits administration
Experience supporting employee relations, corrective action, documentation, and HR investigations
Ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive situations, and communicate clearly with employees and supervisors
Strong understanding of payroll rules, benefits processes, and employment law basics
Solid HR generalist skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
High integrity and strong confidential handling of information
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse employee groups
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, and general data management

Preferred

HR certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR
Experience with ADP or similar HRIS platforms
Spanish language skills (highly preferred)
