Responsibilities
Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies for electrical systems, including power distribution, backup systems, and critical facility equipment
Perform root cause analysis and failure mode assessments to improve system performance and reduce downtime
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and upgrade electrical systems for high availability and resilience
Analyze operational data to identify trends, predict failures, and optimize preventive maintenance schedules
Ensure compliance with DOE standards, NFPA codes, and laboratory safety requirements
Support capital projects and modernization efforts with reliability-focused design input
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred)
Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical systems design, maintenance, or reliability engineering
Strong knowledge of power distribution systems, protective relays, and electrical safety standards
Experience with reliability tools (FMEA, RCM, predictive analytics) and CMMS systems
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a highly regulated environment
Must be able to obtain U.S. Security Clearance
Preferred
Familiarity with DOE facility operations or other federal research environments
Certification in Reliability Engineering or Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
Knowledge of SCADA systems, power quality analysis, and condition monitoring technologies
Active DOE Q clearance
