Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant

LHH is partnering with a well-established insurance defense firm to identify an experienced Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant to support a managing partner in its Nashville office. This role involves preparing legal documents, organizing case files, and coordinating communications in a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare, revise, and finalize pleadings, correspondence, and litigation documents
Maintain and organize case files in both electronic and physical formats
Coordinate communications with clients, witnesses, experts, and external parties
Schedule depositions, court hearings, and other litigation-related events
Draft and proofread motions, agreements, and other legal documents
Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, appointments, and internal workflows
Handle administrative tasks including answering calls, directing inquiries, and monitoring mail
Support trial preparation, including assembling exhibits and organizing materials
Track documents, follow up on outstanding items, and ensure timely completion of tasks
Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy in all interactions

Required

5+ years of proven experience as a litigation paralegal or legal assistant
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong document-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Exceptional attention to detail with strong proofreading and organizational skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently under pressure
Professional demeanor and ability to support a very active litigation practice

Preferred

Strong background in insurance defense, medical malpractice, or professional liability
