The Senior Specialist is responsible for processing benefit verification or authorization for new referrals, assisting with peer training, and supporting the supervisor with various tasks.

Processes benefit verification or authorization for all new referrals with speed and accuracy
Assist AVA Supervisor and Manager with special assignments as needed
The Senior Specialist will assist lead with team quality audits
May assist with new hire onboarding and interview process

Required

High school diploma or equivalent is required
Minimum of two years of experience in related field with 1 year being in medical/healthcare role involving benefit and/or authorization with multiple payor types
Ability to multi-task and support numerous referrals/priorities at one time
Ability to work in a fast past environment
High degree of self-discipline in maintaining productivity expectations
Must be detail-oriented and have a high degree of quality focus
Ability to navigate and train to multiple payor portals
Ability to engage peers in a positive manner

Preferred

Healthcare/medical billing experience preferred
Previous specialty pharmacy technician experience
Previous experience with medical/pharmaceutical authorizations
Experience calculating units and dosages for prior authorizations
