Labor Compliance Assistant
A-C Electric Company is seeking a Labor Compliance Assistant to provide proactive support in ensuring labor compliance processes align with regulations. The role involves maintaining compliance documentation, collecting and reviewing payroll reports, and facilitating communication between teams and subcontractors.

Responsibilities
Maintain Project Compliance Documentation - Organize and manage labor compliance records to ensure accessibility and accuracy throughout project lifecycle
Certified Payroll Collection & Review - Collect certified payroll and prevailing wage reports from subcontractors and assist in reviewing submissions for completeness and accuracy
Compliance Tracking & Issue Flagging - Help identify discrepancies or non-compliance issues in documentation and escalate them to the Labor Compliance Specialist
Database & System Support - Assist with the use of labor compliance tracking systems (e.g., LCPtracker, CA DIR), ensuring timely data entry and updates to project logs and databases
Coordination & Communication - Facilitate communication between internal teams and subcontractors, schedule follow-ups, and assist in preparing compliance materials and tracking action items
Track submission deadlines for labor compliance documentation
Maintain incident logs of non-compliance and support resolution tracking
Perform basic reporting functions from compliance tools
Support scheduling and follow-ups with subcontractors
Assist with meeting material prep and logistical support for compliance meetings
Assist in verifying subcontractor registrations, licenses, and other required pre-job documentation
Help collect and organize apprenticeship-related paperwork and ensure required forms are submitted to the appropriate agencies
Aid in organizing and archiving compliance records to meet document retention standards and assist with audit requests as needed
Assist with onboarding subcontractors to company compliance procedures and tools
Support occasional quality control reviews of past submissions to identify missing information or opportunities for process improvement
Support communication needs with subcontractors or partners, including clarification of compliance expectations or follow-ups
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in business administration, human resources, or construction management is a plus
2–4 years of experience in an administrative, compliance, or support role—ideally in construction, public works, or human resources
Basic understanding of labor laws and/or a demonstrated willingness to learn about federal, state, and local compliance frameworks
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
Clear verbal and written communication skills, with professionalism in interactions across all levels
Highly detail-oriented, with accuracy in documentation and data management
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while maintaining discretion and professionalism
Adaptability to evolving regulations and processes, with a willingness to grow through feedback and training
Preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with compliance tracking tools (e.g., LCPtracker, CA DIR eCPR) is preferred but not required
