Responsibilities
Define and execute a clear strategy to grow and strengthen the laboratory business at a national level
Identify opportunities for expansion, efficiency, and improved service offerings
Own the full P&L for the business unit
Manage budgets, forecasts, staffing plans, and capital investments
Track and improve key performance indicators (KPIs)
Represent the business externally with customers and partners
Support business development efforts and oversee key client relationships
Contribute to proposals, pricing decisions, and service positioning
Ensure high-quality analytical testing and data integrity
Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards
Oversee lab operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and reliability
Lead, develop, and motivate a multidisciplinary team of scientists, technicians, and support staff
Build a strong, collaborative culture in a fast-paced, regulated environment
Manage change, growth, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, food science, or a related scientific field
5+ years leading teams in a laboratory, scientific, or regulated environment
Demonstrated experience managing growth, transformation, or operational improvement
Strong people management, coaching, and culture-building skills
Working knowledge of analytical chemistry and laboratory testing
Experience managing budgets, metrics, and operational performance
Comfort with business planning, client-facing discussions, and investment decisions
Entrepreneurial mindset with strong execution and follow-through
Preferred
Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or PhD)
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and quality systems in food or environmental testing
