Process Development Engineer

Advantage Technical is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Process Development Engineer to join their fast-growing Interventional Oncology & Embolization Process Development team. This role is hands-on and innovation-driven, supporting the commercialization of new products and process improvements from concept through production.

Responsibilities

Assess process capabilities and identify, prioritize, and implement process improvement opportunities
Apply engineering expertise to design and develop processes, procedures, tooling, and automation
Execute deliverables associated with PDP/TDP, Project Management, and Quality Systems
Capture experimental results and contribute to technical reports, validations, and qualifications
Ensure visibility and timely closure of process issues (yield, cost, capability, etc.) aligned with PDP milestones
Evaluate external technologies and identify opportunities for internal implementation
Assess emerging technologies and develop strategic roadmaps, including business cases, risk assessments, and implementation plans
Contribute to manufacturing technology strategy for assigned projects
Write and review validation protocols and reports for new processes
Participate in technical reviews and present data, findings, and recommendations
Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to engineering print packages
Collaborate cross‑functionally to develop design specifications, test methods, and material selections
Generate or contribute to Intellectual Property submissions
Provide work direction and training to technicians
Support training of manufacturing personnel during prototype line development and validation

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering
4 years of professional engineering experience in product/process development, manufacturing, or related fields
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering
Hands‑on mechanical aptitude
Strong engineering fundamentals (LEAN, DFM, Six Sigma, etc.)
Proven cross‑functional teamwork in a technically demanding environment
Strong conflict‑resolution and problem‑solving abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience in the medical device industry or other highly regulated environments
