Grant Accountant III-Business Office

Responsibilities

Administer general ledger grant accounts, including creation of new grants and maintenance of incumbent ones
Ensure that all information is accurate and complete in grants and make GL adjustments as necessary, such as expense transfers and overheads
Monitor revenues and expenses for multiple grants
Payroll and fringe recording and related adjustments
Reconciliation with state records and appropriations
Compile assigned audit schedules and other supporting schedules
Troubleshoot errors and questionable items as necessary
Other duties as assigned

Required

Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time professional experience in accounting or auditing
Ability to think critically and problem-solve, particularly with reconciliations
Keen attention to detail, particularly with expense tracking and handling multiple transactions and grants
Excellent project management, organization and time management skills
Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student population

Preferred

Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or closely related field
Experience working in a higher education or nonprofit environment
At least one year of direct grant experience
