Responsibilities

Conduct outreach to underserved populations and community organizations to raise awareness of credit union products, services, and resources
Represent MidWest America at community events, workshops, and forums to strengthen visibility and relationships
Build and expand partnerships with nonprofits, local businesses, schools, faith-based organizations, and government agencies
Coordinate events by managing material requests, maintaining accurate attendance records, and preparing required reports to ensure smooth execution and accountability
Work occasional evenings and weekends by attending or managing community/partner events
Serve as a liaison to community-based advisory councils, providing insight, guidance, and product knowledge to support informed discussions and decision-making
Develop and deliver financial literacy workshops and presentations in both English and Spanish on topics such as budgeting, saving, homeownership, and small business development
Provide one-on-one financial guidance, referring members to branch staff for accounts, loans, or other financial products
Serve as a trusted resource, offering culturally sensitive communication and support
Collaborate with leadership to identify community needs and design new programs or services aligned with Community Development goals
Track outreach activities and prepare reports to measure program outcomes and compliance
Support internal teams with insights from community engagement to improve products and services
Act as the primary point of contact for bilingual clients, ensuring clear, respectful, and culturally appropriate communication
Work closely with internal departments (lending, compliance, operations) to support member needs
Assess client situations to provide solutions while balancing member needs with organizational risk management

Required

Fluency in both English and Spanish
High school diploma or equivalent
Proficient in using a database system and computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Outlook), including their advanced features for document creation, data analysis, and communication
Must have reliable transportation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Passion for financial education and community development
Strong facilitation and public speaking skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to various audiences
Ability to meet required deadlines for completion of specific projects
Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Good judgement, innovative, initiative, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills

Preferred

Associate's degree in business management, community development, public administration, or related field
One (1) to two years of relevant experience
Understanding of banking principles and functions
Familiarity with credit union practices
